Drug department halts sales of drugs produced by industry facing action

The company had its production license and sales and distribution registration certificate revoked on September 4, 2023.

KATHMANDU, Feb 9: The Department of Drug Administration (DDA) has directed an immediate halt on the sale of drugs by an industry whose production license and sales registration certificate were revoked earlier.


It has come to light that MDH Pharmaceuticals Pvt Ltd, located in Changunarayan Municipality-3, Jhaukhel, has been unlawfully producing and distributing drugs despite the revocation of its license. The company had its production license and sales and distribution registration certificate revoked on September 4, 2023.

The company continued to produce clomiphene citrate tablets, branded 'Fertivet,' and last sent a batch to the market in December. According to the Department, the company has produced and sent the same drug in three batches since the revocation.


The DDA has now instructed MDH Pharmaceuticals to cease production and distribution immediately, recall the drugs from the market, and provide detailed information. The Department has also urged the public not to recommend or use the affected drugs.
