By
KATHMANDU, Sept 4: Alliance Francaise, Kathmandu (AFK), in cooperation with Mu’az Entertainment, organized yet another phenomenal concert with a praise worthy combination of dance by Manjushree Thapa, also known as Maude.

Rock Sitar is an instrumental band consisting of five band members, founded and headed by Bijaya Vaidya, since 2005. Vaidya has also been associated with another instrumental group, Sur Sudha, which has been performing since the 90’s.

Vaidya is also the creator of, ‘Standing Electric Sitar with Pizzo mic’ that has been doing similar modifications with sitars.

“The purpose behind hosting a concert at Alliance Francaise with RockSitar and Manjushree is to make people acquainted with the blend of visual art from classical dances such as, ‘Kattak’ and ‘Charia’ along with instrumental music,” informed Prabin Bikram Rana, Director, Alliance Francaise Kathmandu.

Spectators included students of Alliance Francaise Kathmandu alongside the fans of RockSitar and Maude. The crowd was swayed by Maude’s moves.

It seemed it was not a tough task for her to make the audience enthused and engaged with her performance.

Maude is an Eastern classical dancer and a choreographer, who has been working to promote Indian and Nepali culture through various dance moves.
