Road construction related to national pride projects sees utilization of only 31 percent of capital expenditure as of mid-April

KATHMANDU, May 14: The Department of Roads (DoR), one of the main government entities that work on infrastructure development, spent only 31 percent of the allocated budget to the national pride projects concerned with the construction of roads and bridges in the first nine months of the current fiscal year.

KATHMANDU, May 14: The Department of Roads (DoR), one of the main government entities that work on infrastructure development, spent only 31 percent of the allocated budget to the national pride projects concerned with the construction of roads and bridges in the first nine months of the current fiscal year.


The DoR has received a capital expenditure of Rs 128.27 billion for the fiscal year 2021/22. During mid-July 2021 and mid-April 2022, the department spent only 39.66 billion. The DoR has been constructing 57 projects related to road and bridge construction.

Meanwhile, the Nagdhunga-Naubise Tunnel Road witnessed work progress of 50.90 percent during the review period. The project has so far constructed 2,796 meters of tunnel out of the total length of 5,499 m.
