KATHMANDU, May 26: Accusing the government of not implementing the past agreements, the alliance of the Rastriya Janata Party (RJP) has announced of protesting election.
The alliance's meeting held at RJP's office, Bijulibazar, Friday afternoon, decided to launch protest programs targeting the disruption of second round of the local level election.
The alliance accused the government of not announcing martyrs to those killed during the Madhes agitation, not providing compensation to the families of the killed ones, not cancelling the cases filed against those involved in the Madhes agitation, and not seeking solution to the Madhes problems.
The 26-point agreement raised by federal alliance, 11-point agreement raised by united democratic Madhesi front and the 3-point agreement raised by both alliance and front were yet to be implemented by the government, the meeting pointed.
Moreover, the meeting expressed concern why the political parties including the united RJP registered in the Election Commission were not allowed election symbol. According to it, the increase of 22 local levels was insufficient.
With these, alliance coordinator Mahanth Thakur demanded the government that it took initiative to create an environment friendly to the election. RSS
