The unique triangular flag of Nepal was hoisted along the Australia’s national flag, when audiences were boogieing at national song ‘Rato Ra Chandra Surya’ amid a concert held on Sunday at Tasmania Hall, in Hobart of Australia.


“We had explained about Nepthaya to the hotel administration before they arrive to the hotel,” said one of the local organizers Chhatra Thapa. “Not just band member and audience all NRN of Australia are feeling glad to see Nepali national flag hoisted so high.”

The event kicked off with a screening of their hit music video ‘Sa Karnali’ that was followed by the new song ‘Sanjirakha’ penned by poet Tusli Diwas. Then, the band enthralled the audience with numerous new and old songs.


According to the census done by Australian Bureau of Statistics, Nepali is third language of Tasmania after English and Chinese as per a press statement released by Nepa-laya.


“Every year Dark Mofo Festival — an annual music and arts festival is organized and we have been performing Nepthaya’s song for the festival,” said one of the audience Sandesh Pariyar. “We are happy to observe original band performance,” Pariyar added.


This is the fourth performance of Nepthaya in Australia, before this the band has already performed in Darwin, Brisbane, and Adelaide.


Gurung was supported by Suraj Thapa on keyboards, Dhurba Lama on drums, Subin Shakya on bass guitar, Shanti Raymajhi on madal and Niraj Gurung on guitars.
