Police receive court’s order to arrest suspended Inspector Shahi

KATHMANDU, Oct 16: Police have received permission from the Lalitpur District Court to arrest the then Inspector of Bhainsepati Police Circle, Binu Kumari Shahi.

KATHMANDU, Oct 16: Police have received permission from the Lalitpur District Court to arrest the then Inspector of Bhainsepati Police Circle, Binu Kumari Shahi.


The court issued the arrest warrant to investigate her alleged involvement in a honey trap case for extorting money.

Ranipokhari-based Kathmandu Valley Police Office suspended Shahi from her post on September 26 after she was accused of extorting money from a person threatening him to implicate him in a rape case if he refused to pay the money. The District Police Range, Lalitpur has since started an investigation into the incident.


Police have arrested four people in this incident so far. Those arrested include Sushma BK, Taj Mul Islam, Bhima Devi Thapa and Assistant Constable Mahendra Hamal.


An investigation is currently underway against the arrested.
