CHITWAN, April 25: A Bolero jeep hit a scooter in Chitwan on Friday afternoon, killing a 52-year-old woman. Police identified the victim as Laxmi Wagle, a resident of Indrapuri in Ward No. 6 of Bharatpur Metropolitan City.
The incident occurred at around 1:30 pm at Prembasti Chowk in Ward No. 7 of Bharatpur. According to the Chitwan District Police Office, the Bolero (Na 5 Ch 2644), which was transporting eggs from Gitanagar to Bharatpur, struck the scooter (Na 54 Pa 1795) traveling in the same direction.

The collision left Wagle critically injured. Police rushed her to Bharatpur Hospital, where doctors pronounced her dead on arrival.
Police have taken both vehicles and 25-year-old Pema Lama, the Bolero driver of Manahari Rural Municipality-6 of Makwanpur into custody. An investigation into the incident is underway, said District Police Office Spokesperson Rabindra Khanal.
