Following the complaint, police arrested Ranjit Chaudhari of Duhabi-4 for involvement in the gang rape. [break]
Chaudhari is a factory worker at Magic Shoe Factory, Duhabi.
According to police, a case of sexual assault has already been registered against Chaudhari while a search for the two other suspects-- Jiwan Chaudhari and an eighth-grade student -- is underway.
The victim said that she entreated with them to spare her but they turned a deaf ear. “They used to lurk along the way, and I did not pay any attention to them. But on Wednesday night, they forcibly took to a wheat field and two of them raped me,” said the woman.
Police have taken the woman, who works at Sonapur-based Pashupati factory and also lives at the factory with her two sons, to the police station, out of security concerns.
“Weak and injured, she had came to us to file a complaint the day after the incident,” said Rajkumar Thakuri, assistant sub-inspector at Duhabi police office.
The woman from Sarlahi, who had lost her husband two years ago in a bike accident, had been living in Duhabi for the past nine years.
