KATHMANDU, Dec 20: Rain has delayed the crucial match between Nepal and Bangladesh in the ongoing ACC U-19 Women’s Asia Cup, currently underway in Malaysia.

The match, scheduled for 11:45 am at the Bayuemas Oval Cricket Ground, has not yet started due to persistent rain.

This match is pivotal for both teams. A win for Nepal would secure their spot in the top two of the Super Four stage. However, if the match is abandoned and both teams are awarded one point each, Bangladesh would advance to the top two based on a superior run rate.

Nepal qualified for the Super Four stage as the runners-up of Group ‘B’, while Bangladesh topped Group ‘A’.

Rain also affected the first Super Four match, forcing Nepal and Sri Lanka to share points. Meanwhile, Bangladesh suffered an eight-wicket loss to India.

The weather remains a key factor as teams await a break in the rain to play and determine their fate in the tournament.
