Deuba said that the pick-up van, which entered the country from the Bankul border of Rautahat, was transporting the sugar to Nijgadh when the police took control of it in the Dhodharpa area of Kolhabi.
According to Deuba, the smugglers had hidden the bag of Indian sugar under a sac of puffed rice. Deuba said that since there is tight-checking of smuggled goods at the Bara checkpoint, the sugar was brought in through the Rautahat checkpoint.
