BHAIRAHAWA, March 29: A patient who was undergoing treatment at a temporary hospital set up for treatment of possible coronavirus infected patients has died on Sunday afternoon.

The UAE returnee 34-year-old Baburam Thapa breathed his last at the isolation ward of the hospital at 1 pm today, according to hospital’s focal person Dr Sudarshan Thapa. Deceased Thapa hails from Sainamaina municipality-4, Rupandehi. He had returned from the Gulf nation on March 21. He was admitted to corona special hospital set up by Lumbini Provincial Hospital on March 26.
Dr Thapa, however, said it was not immediately clear whether the patient died due to COVID-19 infection. "We have yet to confirm whether he died from deadly virus. His swab was sent to Kathmandu for lab test today," he said.
