KATHMANDU, Oct 3: One person lost his life in Kirtipur on Thursday after being swept away by floodwaters following heavy rainfall. According to Kirtipur police, Sardaya Lama was found dead near Machhegaun bus park.
Heavy rains hit various parts of the country on Thursday morning, causing sewage water to overflow. Lama was swept away by the flood while attempting to fix the sewer. He was carried into the sewer and had already died when rescued.

In a separate incident, Prahlad Maharjan went missing after falling into a river near Kirti Bihar in Kirtipur. Police are continuing the search for him.
