KATHMANDU, March 11: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Tuesday lost 32.21 points to close at 2,719.20 points.
The secondary market opened with 2,751.42 points and reached the day’s high at 2,761.86 points in around one hour of trading. The index then plummeted and slid to as low as 2,713.62 points in the last five minutes. The market recovered around six points in the remaining period before it closed for the day.

The development bank index gained 111.57 points. Of the 12 losing groups, manufacturing and processing shedded the largest of 186.46 points. Life insurance and non-life insurance also lost three-digit values of 182.44 and 127.60 points respectively.
The sensitive index, which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies, fell by 3.28 points. However, the daily turnover amount increased marginally to Rs 8.39 billion from Rs 8.37 billion on Monday.
Among the individual companies, only 33 were gainers while 208 were registered as losers. Himalayan Reinsurance Limited had the biggest turnover of its shares worth Rs 586.51 million.
NESDO Sambridha Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited lost the highest of 6.69 percent of its market price. Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank, by adding 9.98 percent, was recorded as the largest gainer.
