NEPSE inches up 3.58 points, daily turnover surges to Rs 10.87 billion

KATHMANDU, April 27: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) increased marginally by 3.58 points to close at 2,661.60 points. 


The secondary market opened at 2,658.02 points and escalated to the day’s high at 2,684.01 points within the first one and a half hour. In the next 12 minutes, the market dropped around 14 points, while the index remained almost stable for the next half an hour. The market lost around 10 points in the remaining period before it closed for the day.

Only six out of the 13 groups were the gainers. The Trade index added the largest of 52.81 points, while the Microfinance group lost the largest of 44.66 points in its index.  


The sensitive index, which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies, added 1.81 points. Daily turnover inclined to Rs 10.87 billion from Rs 7.87 billion on Thursday.


Among the individual companies, 104 were gainers while 141 were registered as losers. Ngadi Group Power had the biggest turnover of its shares worth Rs 861.73 million.


Nepal Micro Insurance Company, by adding 9.99 percent in its market value, was recorded as the topmost gainer. Wean Nepal Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited lost the highest of 10 percent.
