KATHMANDU, April 27: The Confederation of Nepalese Professionals (CONEP) has expressed objection over the police suppression of the ongoing teachers' protest.
On the 26th day of the protest, clashes occurred between the police and protesting teachers in New Baneshwor after they attempted to break through a restricted area on Sunday. During the confrontation, around 27 teachers were injured.

In a statement, the CONEP emphasized that it is deeply concerned about the police's actions against the peaceful protesters and urged the government to immediately address their legitimate demands.
A statement issued by the CONEP’s General Secretary Rajan Regmi stated that the solution to the issue should be reached through dialogue, not by using unnecessary force that escalates the situation and suppresses the protesting teachers and staff. The CONEP condemned the government's policy of suppression.
