KATHMANDU, June 6: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Thursday declined marginally by 1.93 points to close at 2,077.78 points.
The market opened at 2,079.71 points and reached the day’s high at 2,088.68 points in the first 16 minutes. In the next half an hour, the index plunged to as low as 2,075.33 points. In the remaining trading hours, the market went to a series of fluctuations and recovered around two points.

The sensitive index that measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies also declined by 1.27 points. The daily turnover increased to Rs 4.38 billion from Rs 3.99 billion on Wednesday.
The ‘trading’ group added the highest of 58.35 points to its index out of the five gainers. Microfinance, hydropower, hotels and tourism, and investment groups were in the row. Of the eight losing groups, finance lost the largest of 45.87 points.
Among individual companies, 101 were recorded as gainers whereas 135 were the losers.
NRN Infrastructure and Development Limited had the largest turnover of its shares worth Rs 186.80 million. Mai Khola Hydropower Limited lost the highest of 6.40 percent of its market value, while Emerging Nepal Limited was the biggest gainer.
