KATHMANDU, June 23: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Sunday decreased marginally by 5.37 points to close at 2,062.94 points.
The market opened at 2,068.31 points and dropped initially to 2,064.07 points in the first 27 minutes. In the next 15 minutes, the index peaked to the day’s high at 2,079.28 points. However, the market went downhill in the successive trading hours. The index plunged to the day’s low at 2,057.74 points in the last one and a half hours before the market closed for the day.

The sensitive index that measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies declined by 0.63 points. The daily turnover, however, inclined to Rs 4.37 billion from Rs 3.87 billion on Thursday.
Of the three gaining groups, finance had its index surged by 128.53 points, the largest among all. The indices of trading and ‘others’ increased 19.12 points and 3.99 points, respectively. Of the 10 losers, hotels and tourism lost the highest of 58.74 points.
Among individual companies, 78 were recorded as gainers whereas 164 were the losers.
Pokhara Finance Ltd had the largest turnover of its shares worth Rs 171.35 million. Global IME Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Ltd lost the highest of 6.58 percent of its market value. Reliance Finance Ltd was recorded as the topmost gainer.
