KATHMANDU, Oct 31: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) on Tuesday plunged 14.29 points to close at 1,864.40 points.
The secondary market opened at 1,878.70 points and increased marginally in the first few minutes of trading. However, the market went into a straight fall and hit the day’s low at 1,860.76 points in the first two hours. The market recovered around three points in the remaining trading hours to close for the day.
Nepse stretches winning run with record weekly turnover
The sensitive index that measures the performance of blue chip companies also declined 2.34 points. The daily turnover further declined to Rs 571.48 million from Rs 694.22 million on Monday.
All the 13 trading groups had their market prices declined in the intraday trading. Life insurance shed 143.33 points, the largest among all.
Among individual companies, the market values of 193 companies decreased whereas 38 companies posted gains in their indices.
SuryaJyoti Life Insurance Company Limited witnessed trading of Rs 17.011 million and stood at the top of the transaction volume lists. Sonapur Minerals and Oil Limited was the biggest loser with a decline of 9.98 percent in its market price. Mahuli Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited gained the highest of 6.05 percent of its market price.
