Nepathya gave their performance at Italian Club, Darwin, Australia. The audience gathered at the club, were a mixed crowd of Nepali students and those living in Darwin. As the show took off with Nepathya’s first song ‘Aganaibhari’, the show continued with the band performing ‘Bhedakooon’, ‘Chekyo Chekyo’ back to back, with the audience accompanying Amrit on chorus throughout.

Songs of nostalgia, fun and solemn filled the air. The audience would just wave or dance as the song and the mood demanded. In between, Nepathya front-man Amrit would share his journey and concern, which made people think and react with a cheer and applaud. “We Nepali are known for our loyalty and integrity. This credibility was earned and passed over to us by our elders. Due to various reasons of choice and compulsion, many of you have travelled to this distant land to earn a living. I request you all to perform your duties with loyalty and retain the pride of our yester generations. Please preserve this so that we can hand this over to our younger generation,” appealed Amrit. Amrit’s appeal comes at a time when the status of Nepali has been demoted by the Australian authorities.

According to the press statement issued by the organizers, the show was organized at a cozy Italian community Club with a capacity of 500.

“Nepathya is probably the most travelled band within Nepal. We have organized shows not only in the cities but beyond. Nepathya’s performance foot-print crosses 40 districts which include small towns like Phidim, Beni, Waling, Palpa, Tamghas, Sadhikharka to name a few. Yesterday’s show in Darwin reminded me of our peace concert tour in small venues,” recalled Kiran Krishna Shrestha of Nepa-laya, the promoters of the band Nepalaya has been the producers for Nepathya shows since 2001 and have been involved in the production of concerts for the band in Nepal and abroad.

The Australia Tour 2019 is scheduled to travel to Adelaide from here, where the Band will perform at the HQ Complex on December 3. The band will then move on to Hobart, and Sydney before concluding the tour in Melbourne on December 23.

Amrit was accompanied on stage by Dhruba Lama on drums, Suraj Thapa on Keyborads, Subin Shakya on bass guitars, Niraj Gurung on guitars and Shanti Rayamajhi on Madal. A six member management and technical team are also part of the entourage.
