NEPALGUNJ: The Kohalpur-based Nepalgunj Medical College Teaching Hospital has been sealed off after a patient tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday.

NEPALGUNJ: The Kohalpur-based Nepalgunj Medical College Teaching Hospital has been sealed off after a patient tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday.


An India-returnee 25-year-old pregnant woman tested positive for the virus.

According to the hospital, the pregnant woman was staying at a quarantine facility in Achham. “The patient came to the hospital after having some health problems. She has intestine-related problems,” according to the hospital.


According to Dr Devendra Acharya, after the swab sample of the patient tested positive, the hospital has been completely sealed off. “Even the emergency department has been closed,” he said, adding that the hospital is discussing how to handle the situation properly.


Though the patient has tested positive for COVID-19, the hospital will carry out her intestinal surgery on Tuesday afternoon, said a doctor.
