On March 25, a joint bench of Justices Kumar Chudal and Saranga Subedi issued an order to grant affiliation to B&C Hospital as a medical college. However, Nepali orthopedic surgeon and philanthropic activist, Professor Dr Govinda KC has been demanding judicial review, claiming that the Supreme Court’s order was flawed.

The Supreme Court issued an order in the name of Kathmandu University and MED on May 27 to grant affiliation to B&C Teaching Hospital within 15 days. Following the order, Kathmandu University’s executive committee meeting held on June 9 sent a letter of recommendation to the MED to grant affiliation.
