KATHMANDU, Jan 25: A painting competition for school students was organized at Dhaka’s Central Shaheed Minar on Friday by the Embassy of Nepal in Dhaka and the Bangladesh-Nepal Friendship Society.
The “Nepal Through My Eyes” competition, organized by the Nepalese embassy, offered students a platform to creatively portray their unique perspectives on Nepal, fostering friendship between Nepal and Bangladesh.

Nepal’s Ambassador to Bangladesh, Ghanshyam Bhandari, inaugurated the event by commending the students’ enthusiastic participation and inspiring them to artistically portray their creative visions of Nepal. He encouraged young artists to explore their creativity, emphasizing art’s role in promoting cross-cultural understanding. Moshiur Ahmed, president of the Bangladesh-Nepal Friendship Society, also greeted attendees and praised their artistic expression of Nepal.
A total of 350 students from 91 schools in Dhaka participated in the competition, divided into two age categories: 6–10 years and 11–16 years, the embassy press release stated. An esteemed panel of judges will select four winners and 10 outstanding artworks from each category. A separate prize distribution ceremony will be held to honor the winners and recognize the selected participants.
The event highlighted the cultural and artistic ties between Nepal and Bangladesh, further strengthening the spirit of friendship between the two nations, according to the statement.
