"The first leg of the event organized in Colombo saw encouraging participation of local tour operators and media representatives. Many of them wanted to know about flight connectivity between Sri Lanka and Nepal and the Buddhist Circuits pilgrimage tour," the statement added.

Sri Lanka has emerged as the fourth largest tourist generating market for Nepal in recent years.

Similarly, more than 100 participants from the Indian travel trade and media participated in Bangalore leg of the event, according to the statement. "Encouraging response from the Indian travel trade shows that Bangalore has a huge tourism potential for Nepal," the statement added.
