Minister Sharma calls for forwarding Security Printing Bill

KATHMANDU, Feb 6: Minister for Communications and Information Technology Rekha Sharma has said that the Security Printing Bill should be moved forward by taking into consideration the lawmakers' amendment motions, report received from the National Assembly and the spirit of the discussions taking place in the parliamentary committee meetings.

KATHMANDU,  Feb 6: Minister for Communications and Information Technology Rekha Sharma has said that the Security Printing Bill should be moved forward by taking into consideration the lawmakers' amendment motions, report received from the National Assembly and the spirit of the discussions taking place in the parliamentary committee meetings.


At a discussion programme on the Security Printing Bill during a meeting of the Education, Health and Information Technology Committee of the House of Representatives (HoR) on Monday, Minister Sharma said that a clear definition on printing of bank notes should be stated in the bill.

The government had registered the bill at the federal parliament some three years ago to pave the way for the establishment of a security printing press.
