KATHMANDU, Feb 17: Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel, who was undergoing treatment at Kirtipur Burn Hospital, has been discharged.
Kirtipur Burn Hospital has decided to discharge him on Monday as his burn wound is healing and there is no sign of infection in his lungs.
A statement issued by Kirtipur Hospital Director Dr Kiran Kishor Nakarmi said that the health condition of Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Poudel and Pokhara Metropolitan City Mayor Dhanraj Acharya, who have been undergoing treatment for the last 2 days, is returning to normal.

The burn wounds of both of them are healing and there does not appear to be any adverse effect on their lungs. Therefore, it has been decided to discharge Finance Minister Paudel from the hospital today.
Mayor Acharya will be under medical supervision for a few more days. The hospital said that Acharya, who has high blood pressure, is being consulted with a cardiologist and requires further treatment.
The hospital has maintained its decision to immediately suspend meetings with Mayor Acharya to reduce the risk of infection.
Minister Paudel and Mayor Acharya were burned when a balloon filled with flammable material exploded during the inauguration of Pokhara Visit Year on Saturday. The Finance Minister and the Mayor suffered burns on their face, neck, throat and cheeks.
They were undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit at Kirtipur Burn Hospital. Doctors said that they should be kept under observation for 48 hours. Finance Minister Paudel was discharged after the conclusion that there was no effect on the respiratory system.
