‘Meri Bassai’ actress ‘Apsara Ama’ cremated with national flag

KATHMANDU, July 5: Laxmi Shrestha, the actress who portrayed the role of Apsara Ama in the popular comedy series ‘Meri Bassai’ has passed away.


Shrestha, who had been battling breast cancer for a long time, died on Friday night.

She was cremated at Pashupati Aryaghat on Saturday morning. Before the cremation, her mortal remains were draped with the national flag of Nepal.


Shrestha began her acting career in 1995 with the shows ‘Twaaka Tukka’ and ‘Hijo Ajaka Kura’.
