Her favorite food is ‘sisnu-dedho’
“I love eating sisnu and dedho,” says the vivacious actress. Laughing, she adds, “Normally, when a daughter and the son-in-law visit the daughter’s home, they are given non-vegetarian delicacies. But when I go to my parents, they welcome us with sisnu and dedho, and we love it. In fact, I call ahead and ask them to prepare it
for us.”

Milk tea used to be her drink of choice
While Kunjana doesn’t drink milk tea anymore, it was once among her favorite beverages to drink. She loved milk tea so much that a promise of a cup of good milk tea would be enough to take her to places. “I used to drink more than 10 cups of milk tea in a day, regardless of whether it was summer or winter. I loved drinking it so much that I would go anywhere for a cup of good tea,” she says. But following doctor’s orders, she has quit milk tea and switched to black tea.
She was once fluent in Newari language
Born and brought up amidst the Newari community in Chapagaun, Lalitpur, she used to speak the language fluently. She used to converse with all her friends in Newari. “But after SLC exams, I started working and couldn’t spend as much time as I liked with my friends. And that’s how I lost touch with the language,” she says.
She’s a huge football fan
As a student, Kunjana was involved in a lot of extracurricular activities. She was also the only girl in her school to play football matches with other boys. While it’s been many years since she has played the game, she does follow the World Cup religiously. She says, “I was supporting Germany in the recent World Cup and I’m so glad they took the trophy home. Miroslav Klose and Lionel Messi are my favorite players.”
She enjoys dancing
Ever since she was a little girl, dance was a fun and interesting pasttime for her. She even studied the Bharat Nayam dance form for two years at Padma Kanya Campus before shifting to another degree. Today, she may not dance as much as she would like to but it’s still a fun activity. “Sometimes, I perform during our stage shows where I dance to modern songs,” she says.
