Vice Chairman of Shahi Yuva Sakti arrested in connection with Tinkune violence

The police arrested Dilbahadur Shrestha, a member of the Shahi Yuva Shakti, in the Gongbu area on Tuesday.

KATHMANDU, April 8: The police arrested Dilbahadur Shrestha, a member of the Shahi Yuva Shakti, in the Gongbu area on Tuesday. 


Shrestha faces charges of actively organizing a disruptive group during the pro-monarchy protest on March 28. The police are also searching for other individuals involved in the protest.

Pashupati Khadka, the Chairman of the Shahi Yuva Sakti, has already been arrested and remains in custody.


The police have intensified their search for individuals, including Durga Prasai, who are believed to have incited the March 28 violence. The police arrested Shrestha for participating in the violent protest at Tinkune on March 28.


Superintendent of Police (SP) Angur GC, spokesperson for the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office, said they are preparing to hand him over to the Kathmandu District Police Range for further action.
