KATHMANDU, April 4: Australia has congratulated Prime Minister Balendra Shah on his assumption to the post of the Prime Minister of Nepal.
Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong, in a message addressed to Prime Minister Shah, extended congratulations on being sworn in as Prime Minister of Nepal and to the Interim Government on the successful conduct of elections.

"Our countries share a strong friendship, and we look forward to working together to promote a peaceful, stable and prosperous region," Wong has written in the message.
