Road diversions to be implemented
KATHMANDU, April 8: The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) will stage a protest in Kathmandu on Tuesday. The party has received permission from the authorities to hold the protest in Balkhu after organizing rallies from various locations. Teachers, cooperatives, and microfinance victims will also participate in the protest.
To ensure smooth traffic movement, the police have arranged road diversions. On Monday, they issued a notice informing the public about the main areas where vehicle diversions will be implemented.
The following locations will see road diversions:
- Khasi Bazar – Makalu – Kalanki Chowk – Bafal
KMC installs Pelican crossings at 36 locations

- Balkhu Chowk – Kuleshwar – Kalimati Chowk – Teku
- Kirtipur – Sundarighat – Sanepa – Ekantakuna
If necessary, additional diversion points will be implemented at the following locations:
- Tripureshwar, Balaju, Halchok, Naikap, Sitapaila, Chobhar, Pharping, Nakkhu Junction, and Koteshwor.
Parking locations for participants arriving with vehicles:
- T.U. Gate to Chobhar Road
- Sanepa Corridor Road (on both sides)
- Chobhar Dry Port
- New Bus Park
- One lane on the Sitapaila – Bafal road section
Meanwhile, the Nepal Teachers' Association will gather at Maitighar Mandala, and cooperatives and microfinance victims will hold their program at Shanti Park, between the Baneshwor and Maitighar road sections. The traffic police will arrange diversions at these locations as needed.
The police have urged drivers of vehicles passing through the event areas to use alternative routes.
