The locals of Bhaktapur joined hands on Saturday to clean the architecturally magnificent Garuda Kunda. Around 30 people from the locale, including the newly elected local body officials of Bhaktapur, participated in the cleaning program. Garuda Kunda is named after Lord Vishnu and is designed in a manner that the water flows through the idol of Lord Vishnu. A dome shaped stone shrine of Lord Shiva adds to the beauty of Garuda Kunda. The locals’ joint initiative is an example of how Bhaktapur residents have been working together to protect and preserve cultural heritages.
