Literature festival concludes today

KATHMANDU, Sept. 23: The four-day Nepal Literature Festival has concluded in the capital on Sunday.



Some 25,000 people visited the Festival that was organized by Bookwork Trust in collaboration with Nepal Academy and sponsored by Ncell.[break]



Thorough discussions were held on literature, language, journalism, translation and writing skills during the Festival.



Media coordinator of the organizing body, Pradip Basyal said in the Festival attended by the national and international literati, Professor Abhi Subedi, Ramesh Dhungel, analysts CK Lal, Khagendra Sangraula and others shed light on the post 1990 literature.



Intensive discussions were held on print and publications begun some 100 years ago in Benares and Darjeeling and its impact in the development of Nepali literature.



Festival Director Ajit Baral said the Festival brought together the literati from various countries and provided opportunity to discuss and review the progress in the respective literary sectors.



The literati exchanged their experiences during the Festival.



Meanwhile, a collection of travelogue Part I edited by Byakul Pathak and published by the Ratna Pustak Bhandar was released by senior litterateur Dhruba Chandra Gautam on Sunday.
