Legal practitioners should be honest: Chief Justice

KATHMANDU, Aug 12: Chief Justice Cholendra Shamsher Rana has said that the law practitioners are the ones who illuminate justice in the society.


Speaking in a program organized by Nepal Bar Council here today, CJ Rana shared that the lawyers were not only law practitioners at the courts but also social campaigners. He also expected capacity, honesty and devotion from legal practitioners. On the occasion, Chief Justice Rana feted senior advocate Sarbagya Ratna Tuladhar. He also honored posthumously the first chair of the Council Motikaji Sthapit.

Speaking in the same program, Law Minister Bhanubhakta Dhakal said that the legal practitioners should be honest and maintain dignity to ensure justice. Former Speaker and senior advocate Subas Nembang shared the struggle of legal practitioners to come to the present day.


Likewise, attorney general Agni Kharel feted various personalities for their significant contribution to the legal sector. Nepal Bar Association chair senior advocate Chandeshwar Shrestha, senior advocate Badri Bahadur Karki among others addressed the program.
