Khalanga banda contnues

MAHENDRANAGAR, Sept 22: Normal life has been crippled in Khalanga of Darchula district for the third consecutive day on Sunday due to strike called by agitating Darchula flood victims.



They enforced banda demanding proper compensation to the flood victims.[break]



Except hospitals, all the other sectors including market places, transport, government offices and educational institutions have remained closed in Khalanga.



The Darchula chapter of Chamber of Commerce has also expressed solidarity to the banda enforced by the flood victims.



Earlier, they had picketed the District Administration Office, and padlocked the District Election Office and District Treasury Controller Office of Darchula in protest of government’s apathy to their demands.
