Kalanki incident takes new turn, two guns seized not used in incident

KATHMANDU, August 1: Two guns believed to have been used by an unidentified group who opened fire on the house of Former under-secretary Bishnu Prasad Sharma on Monday evening were reportedly not used in the firing incident.

KATHMANDU, August 1: Two guns believed to have been used by an unidentified group who opened fire on the house of former under-secretary Bishnu Prasad Sharma on Monday evening were reportedly not used in the incident.


Police who reached Sharma’s house following the incident found a bullet with a size of 2.22 mm there.

Police went to the house of former engineer Shovakar Khanal who is the neighbor of Sharma in the course of investigation. They seized two weapons from his house. Police had grilled Khanal after arresting him for some time.


The forensic test of the two weapons conducted by Samakhusi-based Central Police Forensic Science Laboratory showed that they were not used by those who opened fire on Sharma’s house.
