KAILALI, Jan 12: Kailari Rural Municipality in Kailali district has announced a three-day-long public holiday on the occasion of Maghi festival of Tharu community. The rural municipality decided to give three days of public holiday from January 12, Chairman of the Kailari Rural Municipality Lajuram Chaudhary said.
Chairman Chaudhary said that the decision was taken for the protection of Tharu community’s traditional cultures as well as local arts and traditions in the area that is largely populated by Tharu community.
Public holiday in Karnali Province on Maghi festival
Issuing a public notice, the rural municipality has informed the stakeholders and service-seekers that entire government offices, financial institutions, schools and public entities in the rural municipality would remain closed during the holidays.
