Talking to reporters at a program organized by the Press Chautari, Morang, Pokharel said he had no grudges about the Standing Committee decision taken a day earlier to hand the rank to Oli as it was meant to bolster internal unity in the party. [break]
It may be recalled that Standing Committee member Amrit Bohara had written a note of dissent at the meeting, expressing his dissatisfaction over the verbal agreement to elevate Oli to the third position in the party.
Pokharel, however, made it clear that there had been no talks held at the meeting on making Oli a Constituent Assembly member.
"But in case UML gets another chance to lead government in the future, comrade Oli is very much qualified enough to be the prime minister," Pokharel said.
Describing the current government as ´incompetent´, the UML leader said, "UML is ready to accept a government under anybody´s leadership, but not under Baburam Bhattarai´s."
