The price of the car will be around Rs 1.5 million. The company has not yet decided as to how many variants they are going to introduce in the beginning.
In India, seven different variants of this car have been introduced in the market on October 13. "Probably, three variants of the car will be available at the showroom and other variants will be made available to the customers upon request," Dhungana said.
However, it is going to be cheaper than Santro, which is the cheapest car that is being sold by the company at the moment, which costs around Rs 1.7 million.
The car has a displacement of 814 cc and features that are usually not available in its competitors in the market. In tested conditions, the car provides a mileage of 21.4 km per liter.
Exterior of this car has been inspired by Hyundai i10.
"We are pretty sure that we can achieve high sales figure because the features we are offering have not been offered by any other car till date at the price level we´re offering. Most of the cars on offer in similar price categories have no luxury or safety features," he said.
The highest variant of the car has features like power steering with tilt function, power windows, MP3 player with USB port, air conditioner, body colored bumpers, keyless entry and airbag. The dealer for Nepal is considering this car to a new revolution in the entry level segment.
Maruti Suzuki Alto, Chevrolet Spark, Tata Indica and Perodua Viva will be the major competitors for Hyundai Eon in Nepali market. The car is produced and will be brought from Hyundai plant at Chennai, India.
"With this car in our showroom, we are looking forward to being the market leader in the entry-level hatchback category," said Dhungana.
