KATHMANDU, Aug 6: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has warned of heavy to very heavy rainfall across various parts of Nepal on Tuesday and Wednesday. In response, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) has issued a high alert and requested a halt to night bus operations in affected districts due to the difficulty of assessing flood and landslide risks at night.

Residents are advised to avoid travel unless necessary and to remain vigilant, especially those living near riverbanks. The authority has also cautioned against collecting firewood or fishing in rivers during the floods.
