Graft case filed against Palpa Public Health Officer

PALPA, April 8: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a graft case against six people including Chief at District Public Health Office, Palpa at the Special Court in Kathmandu.

The anti-graft watchdog filed the corruption case against public health officer Kedar Singh Godar on Monday for irregularities in purchasing medicines and medical equipments during his posting at DPHO Chitwan.


An employee at the DPHO said the office works have been hard-hit after the top official was dragged into the graft case.

The CIAA has demanded Rs 1.6 million in compensation from Godar for irregularities while purchasing AmoXiCillin capsules. It has also charge sheeted Account Officer Purna Prasad Regmi, Nayab Subba (Non-gazetted officer) Laxmi Bhakta Upadhyay and Krishna Prasad Dhungana, accountant Laxmi Kanta Sharma and importer Jagannath Ojha.
