KATHMANDU, June 11: The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a graft case against 14 individuals, including the former Chairman of Nawarajpur Rural Municipality, Bishwo Mohan Prasad Yadav, and Vice Chairman Shobha Kumari Yadav. The case was filed on Monday in the Special Court.
Narhari Ghimire, spokesperson of the CIAA, informed that the case involves parliamentarians of the Madhesh province government accused of embezzling funds intended for completing unfinished work at Ramjaki Dalit Basic School, Majhaura, without carrying out any actual work.
CIAA files graft case against former Under Secretary
The CIAA has made a compensation claim of Rs 1.452 million against the former Chairman, Vice Chairman, Chief Administrative Officer Amarendra Kusiyat, Accountant Som Prasad Acharya, Engineer Krishna Sah, and Sub-engineer Santosh Kumar Yadav.
Additionally, equal amounts of compensation claims have been made against Users’ Committee Chairman Laxmi Narayan Mukhiya, Treasurer Ghurani Devi Mandal, and Secretary Rambharos Mukhiya Malaha.
The CIAA has also imposed the same penalties, including imprisonment and fines, against the former Head of the Planning Branch of the Rural Municipality Ramesh Kumar Nidhi, former Head of Logistics Sanjay Prasad Yadav, former Chairman of Ward-4 Madan Yadav, former Chairman of Ward-5 Manoj Kumar Yadav, and former Chairman of Ward-2 Khushi Lal Shah.
