MORANG, Sept 30: Three people were injured after a clash broke out between two groups at the Nepali Congress convention venue in Morang-6 on Wednesday.
The clash occurred during nomination registration for the 15th General Convention of the Nepali Congress at the Sikdel Bandhu Samanwaya Pratishthan in Sundarharaicha Municipality-4.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Makendra Kumar Mishra, spokesperson for the Morang District Police Office, the clash erupted following a dispute during the nomination registration process.

The three injured are receiving treatment at Nobel Hospital in Biratnagar and are in stable condition, Mishra said.
Police are searching for those involved in the clash and investigating the incident, he said. Security personnel have been deployed to prevent further clashes and bring the situation under control. Conventions being held elsewhere in Morang have remained peaceful, according to police.
A regional convention representative said the dispute began after a woman’s name was omitted from the list of representatives. According to the representative, the situation escalated after she raised the issue while minutes of the meeting were being recorded, with several people arriving and vandalizing the venue.
Regional chair candidates Chumanarayan Tabdar, Chet Raj Regmi and Samundra Pokharel were among those injured in the clash.
Chairs were also vandalized during the incident, disrupting the scheduled nomination registration process.
With the election process halted, uncertainty remains over when and how the nomination registration process will resume.
