KATHMANDU, Jan 4: CPN-UML is scheduled to hold a district convention on December 7. After the 10th General Convention, the UML is going to hold all 77 district conventions. The UML is going to hold a convention of districts, provinces and people's organizations by concluding the general convention in December.
In the inter-party directive issued after the meeting of the second Central Committee of the UML, it was mentioned that the district convention should be held on January 7 and the provincial convention on January 22. The party has stated that all the preparations for the district convention have been completed as per the same directive. As preparations for most of the district conventions of the CPN-UML have been completed, the inauguration will take place on January 7 and the new leadership will be elected on January 8.

According to Bishnu Rijal, Deputy Chief of UML’s Publicity Department, arrangements for the selection of representatives from all the wards and districts for the convention have been completed. "The convention will be held simultaneously in all the districts except some Himalayan districts," said Rijal.
