KATHMANDU, Oct 1: Rescue teams recovered four more bodies from a massive avalanche on Mt Himlung in Narphabhumi Rural Municipality of Manang on Thursday, bringing the death toll to 11.
According to rescue coordinator and International Federation of Mountain Guides Associations (IFMGA) guide Pasang Kaji Sherpa, the additional bodies were recovered after rescuers cleared snow despite extremely adverse weather and difficult terrain.
The identities of the four bodies recovered on Thursday are yet to be verified.

The bodies of Birendra Gurung, Ghanshyam Rai, Chhebi Bhote, Pasang Bhote, Aash Gurung, Suraj Rai and Padam Magar had been recovered earlier.
A joint search and rescue operation is continuing under the leadership of the Nepal National Mountain Guide Association (NNMGA), in coordination with Himalayan Holidays, Seven Summit Treks and local guides.
A team of 11 experienced climbing guides and local rescuers, including IFMGA mountain guides Pasang Kaji Sherpa and Bikram Karki, has been deployed at the site.
The avalanche struck at an altitude of around 5,200 metres in Narphabhumi Rural Municipality-5 on September 27 while climbers were attempting to summit Mt Himlung.
Eleven people caught in the avalanche were safely contacted the following day, while rescue teams have continued searching for those still missing.
The NNMGA said details of the four bodies recovered on Thursday would be made public after their identities are verified.
