Govt registers Federal Civil Service Bill in Parliament

Minister for Federal Affairs and General Administration Pratibha Rawal registered the bill on Wednesday, according to Secretariat Spokesperson Eakram Giri. The bill has been registered as Bill No. 35.

KATHMANDU, Oct 1: The government has registered the Federal Civil Service Bill, 2083 BS, at the Federal Parliament Secretariat.



Minister for Federal Affairs and General Administration Pratibha Rawal registered the bill on Wednesday, according to Secretariat Spokesperson Eakram Giri. The bill has been registered as Bill No. 35.

A Cabinet meeting on September 29 had approved the presentation of the bill, which seeks to amend and integrate laws relating to the federal civil service, in Parliament.


The government has said the bill aims to make the civil service professional, capable, accountable and people-oriented by keeping the bureaucracy free from political influence.


The bill also envisions a civil service committed to national interests and the federal democratic republic, as well as a mechanism oriented toward good governance.
