China applauds Nepal's support over Tibet

KATHMANDU, April 7: Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping applauded on Tuesday Nepal´s support for China over the Tibet issue, according to the Chinese news agency, Xinhua.



During his meeting with visiting Foreign Minister Upendra Yadav, Xi also said China always treats relations with Nepal from a strategic and long-term perspective.



"We will work with Nepal to increase communication and cooperation, in an effort to advance the bilateral relationship to a new level," Xinhua quoted Xi as saying. The Chinese vice president also noted that China-Nepal ties set a good example for relations between large and small countries with equality, friendly co-existence and win-win cooperation.

Yadav told the Chinese leader that Nepal won´t allow any force to conduct anti-China activities in Nepali territory. "We firmly adhere to the one-China policy," said Yadav, according to the news agency.



Yadav is visiting China on an official visit from April 4 to 10 at the invitation of his Chinese counterpart Yang Jiechi. He is also scheduled to visit Hong Kong and Indonesia before returning to home on April 18.
