KATHMANDU, Jan 14: Bibeksheel Sajha Party has expressed deep concerns over the construction of a road in Lipulekh, a Nepali territory, by India and the ‘mysterious silence’ maintained by the Nepal government on the matter.

Issuing a press note on Friday, the Bibeksheel Sajha Party stressed the need for the people’s focus on the matter as the government remains ‘mysteriously silent' about the statement made by the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to construct a road on Nepal’s land.

“The construction of roads at Kalapani, Lipulekh, and Limpyadhura by India, despite the territory belonging to Nepal, is a matter of serious concern. Evermore serious is the silence and the helplessness of our government over the matter,” the note reads.

Furthermore, the party has urged the government to move ahead with holding dialogues with the neighboring country. “The neighbor’s act of doing things at its will on the Nepali territory is not acceptable to any Nepali citizen who is a patriot. We urge the government to move forward with immediate diplomatic dialogue with India, with a firm stand that construction of all kinds of structures on the Nepali soil should be stopped immediately,” the press note reads.
