NRB invites tenders to print new Rs 500-denomination notes

Eligible and interested note printing companies are required to submit their bids until March 12, 2025. Bids will be submitted through an international competitive bidding (single-stage, two-envelope bidding procedure).

KATHMANDU, March 30: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has invited tenders for printing Rs 500-denomination notes. The central bank's Currency Management Department has issued a notice,  inviting bids to print 230 million pieces of new Rs 500-denomination notes.


Eligible and interested note printing companies are required to submit their bids until March 12, 2025. Bids will be submitted through an international competitive bidding (Single Stage, Two Envelope Bidding Procedure).

The NRB has stated that technical and financial proposals will have to be sealed separately. Those interested in obtaining the tenders will have to apply from the NRB, Currency Management Department, Thapathali or Babarmahal branch. However, the companies that are blacklisted or legally disqualified will not be allowed to participate in the process.
