KATHMANDU, May 9: The Sajha Party has expressed deep concern over the inauguration of a link road passing through the Nepali territory of Lipulekh by the Indian government.
The Indian government on Friday had unilaterally inaugurated the link road to Mansarovar in Tibet of China via Lipulekh.
According to a press statement issued by the party, the Indian Government has constructed the link road without consulting Nepal.
Let Sajha rise
“The party strongly opposes the move of the Indian government which is against the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Nepal.”
Six months back, the Indian Government had published a political map including Nepal’s Lipulekh, Limpiadhura and Kalapani in the Indian territory. This is the second time that the Indian government has taken such a step which is against international law.
The party has also expressed sadness over the inability of the Nepal government to resolve the territorial disputes with its two neighboring countries.
“India must correct its new political map and return the encroached land of Nepal. The Indian government must apologize to the Nepal government for building a road that passes through Nepal’s territory,” the press statement further reads.
