KATHMANDU, Jan 4: Former vice-chairman of the CPN-UML, Bhim Rawal, reached Biratnagar, the capital of Koshi Province, on Saturday. When Rawal reached Biratnagar with a nationwide campaign called 'Matribhumi Jagran Abhiyan (Motherland Awakening Campaign)', a crowd of cadres from the royalists to the CPN (Unified Socialists) thronged the airport to welcome him.
When Rawal reached the airport, it is said that cadres of medical entrepreneur Durga Prasai, who has been campaigning in favor of the former king recently, especially went to receive him. They also chanted the slogan 'Jai Desh, Jai Naresh'. The royalists had reached Rawal with the national flag to welcome him. However, the police did not allow the flag to be carried into the airport premises.
KP Oli treated me like enemy, he didn't even want to talk to me...
Similarly, a group led by Wasim Alam, leader of the Unified Socialists, also reached the airport to welcome Rawal. Alam is a central member of the socialists of the CPN (Unified Socialist). Rawal commented that even after reaching Biratnagar, the UML has turned into a 'Bamale'.
Similarly, Rawal claimed that he would not limit himself to communist ideology alone but would start a campaign by uniting all kinds of patriots to protect the motherland. To this communists, non-communists, and royalists all have responded.
